are you hungry yet?

I am a big fan of the meal plan. Without sitting down and plotting out what my farmer and I will be eating each week, he'd probably end up chewing on raw noodles while I ate Fruit Loops.

It wouldn't be a pretty picture.

If you're in the same boat as me, you're in luck.

This isn't just any cookbook. It's a cookbook that highlights all sorts of sweet and savory dishes -- from breakfast to supper to breads to drinks -- that include dairy.

It's even got a recipe, courtesy of my mother-in-law, for dog biscuits!

Come to think of it, now that we have three puppies, I'm thinking her next cookbook submission will be titled, "Tail Waggin' Dog Biscuits . . . for a Crowd."

And in case you're wondering, no, the recipe titles aren't, "Milk" or "Cheese" or "Yogurt."

They're the perfect balance between Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart, not too easy and not too hard.

Also, there's a section on dessert, so if anyone needs me, you can find me filed under "Carbs."

And the best part of all? Interspersed through the cookbook, you'll find cow, dairy and farming facts to help you walk, talk and work like a real dairy farmer.

There's even a whole section on Holsteins, because as we all know, those are clearly the best kind of dairy cow.

{With apologies to all the other kinds of dairy cows, which are actually just as awesome.}

So if you're in a cooking slump, need a meal plan, love milk and protein and cheese and calcium and Greek yogurt and eating healthy while still enjoying flavor, order your copy of The Dairy Good Cookbook today.

You just have to promise me you'll have me over for supper. Deal?

What are you cooking tonight?

  1. Next Monday I begin my full-time service to husband and home and all things "from scratch." I have been collecting pin money in my jar with any cash left after my weekly trip to the farmer's market. I will be ordering this on Monday and receiving it on Wednesday, just in time for my scheduled Friday morning meal planning activity. Can't wait for my first week homemaker delivery!

  2. I'm so excited for you, Barb. What joy! And I can't wait to hear a full report on what recipes you've tried and loved. I already half the book marked!
